Christian marriage counseling should be taken seriously
I know more than a few couples who are having really serious problems yet who refuse to go into counseling with their priest or anyone else. Instead they’d rather sit at home and watch Oprah or Dr. Phil. But worse than these couples are the ones who go to Christian marriage counseling but then don’t take it seriously. I met a couple the other day after Sunday mass who were joking and bad mouthing the counseling and the counselor and acting like the whole thing was one big joke. The really sad part is that their kids are the ones who are going to suffer when they get a divorce.
