Older people can avoid Alzheimers through lower blood pressure

New studies indicate that older people can avoid alzheimers through lower blood pressure. The same way that high blood pressure can cause strokes by bursting blood vessels in the brains can also lead to brain damage that brings on Alzheimers disease and other forms of dementia.

But a recent study in Australia shows that older people taking blood pressure medication had only half as many cases of dementia as those not controlling their hypertension.

Of course it’s not the medications that protected them but their effects to lower blood pressure. Drugs have their own risks so it’s better to reduce blood pressure naturally.
