CAUSES OF ASPERGER’S SYNDROME

The direct cause of Asperger’s Syndrome is still unknown. It is widely accepted that Asperger’s Syndrome has a hereditary factor; it is suspected that multiple play a part in causing Aspergers syndrome, since the number and severity of symptoms vary widely among individuals. Non-Neurological factors such as poverty, lack of sleep, substance abuse by the mother during pregnancy, discrimination, trauma during early childhood. Evidence has shown that there may be certain “triggers” which precipitate the condition, including environmental factors. Contrary to the incorrect assumptions some may make about people with disorder,Asperger Syndrome is not caused by emotional deprivation or the way a person has been brought up. Some of the behaviors exhibited by someone with Asperger’s syndrome may be seen by others as intentionally rude.
