Do you have to sign a contract?

I am doing a bit of research for my brother who was wondering if you had to sign any contract for one of those cheap prepaid cell phones. His credit has seen better days and he has been denied by two different cell phone carriers, so he can’t get into another contract without paying way over what a normal person would have to pay. I was telling him about the prepaid cell phones, but neither of us were sure if they required a contract or not. If you have any good information about how these phones work, let me know.

Is XoftSpy SE worth the money?

I am trying to figure out which spyware remover I should purchase, and I have narrowed down my options a bit, but I am still not sure which one I should get. So far I am leaning toward XoftSpy SE. Can anyone tell me more about this program? Is it worth the money? I would love to find some XoftSpy SE reviews that I can use to find out a bit more about the pros and cons of the program so I can make an informed decision on whether this program would be best for me or whether another program would be better.

Receiving faxes via your email account

Forget about wasting paper on receiving faxes. I know most of the documents I receive via fax aren’t kept long enough to justify sending them and wasting the paper. Instead I’ve switched to receiving all of my faxes via MyFax an Internet fax service that forwards my online fax number to the email account(s) of my choice. It’s really neat, I check my email and it notifies me if I’ve received a new fax or not. Saving me time from being interrupted by the fax machine ringing or having to walk across the office to pick up what comes in on the fax machine.

A Phone System for Every Business

One of my good friends, Bob, is also a very good businessman who owns several successful companies, ranging from athletic shoe manufacturing to call centers.

Not long ago I told him I was expanding my business and needed a more efficient phone system. He told me he uses a Nortel Network Phone System in all of his businesses.

When I asked how one system could accommodate such different businesses, he said the company had a system which fit any size or type of business.

Based on his recommendation I am looking into a Nortel system and, if Bob recommended it, I know I’m getting the best.

Computer Lessons

Sometimes, when I think back on some of the things I did when I first got a computer, I’m amazed I didn’t destroy it.

No one had ever told me how to use a PC and I had never even heard the words virus, trojan, or worm. And I thought a registry was something I that belonged with my checkbook.

But eventually my fast little computer slowed down and I spent hours searching for the reason.

In time I discovered that fixing XP Registry would help, so I bought a good registry cleaner and saw an immediate improvement.

I’m happy to say that PC maintenance is routine for me today.

Computer Privacy Issues Are Very Real

I’ve heard so many stories about family members stumbling across the history file on their computer and discovering that their spouse or kids have been visiting some bad websites.  If you have a family computer and you don’t want your other family members to find these cache files you’re going to have to clean them out after every use.  This can get annoying, so I recommend using a program like ParetoLogic Privacy Controls.  I wrote up a ParetoLogic Privacy Controls review that will give you the pros and cons as well as an overview of the program so you can see what it has to offer.

My geeky Christmas list

Every year my mother in law asks for Christmas lists from everyone, including the adults.  She insists that I’m the most difficult person in the world to shop for, but I disagree completely.  Just send me toward the gadgets.

My current gadget wishlist includes a shiny Blackberry, a laptop skin, extra flash drives, and a new keyboard.  Okay, so I’ll probably buy a new keyboard for myself before the holidays roll around, but that’s the general gist of my wishes!

Of course, anything that even resembles a shiny gadget will be just awesome.  I’m not picky about my technology acquisition.

Search for database administrator vacancies online

You can find database administrator vacancies by searching the career web sites online. Many companies need an employee who is capable of managing their database and providing regular maintenance and testing support. The level and need for a database administrator may vary depending on the database environment that a company has. The database administrator will have to be able to perform quality control updates to the system, ensuring maximum performance and availability for the system. Companies want to experience a minimum (or non at all) amount of downtime that will slow production. The person to fill this vacancy must be skilled and educated in the database administration field.

Solving Slow Computer Issues

It’s a common thing that the Windows operating system will get slow and sluggish over time.  This is due to the fact that often times files and folders will get created but never removed.  This happens often in the Windows registry, where Windows stores important files that reference file associations, settings, and preferences.  The registry is very important for Windows to run properly, so don’t attempt to fix the registry on your own.  If you need to speed up a slow computer, then I definitely suggest getting some maintenance software such as a registry cleaner.  This will help quite a bit.

DVD Printing For Individual Needs

What could professional DVD printing do for the independent enthusiast? How about multiple professionally-labeled duplications of home videos for a class reunion, family reunion, 50th wedding anniversary, or any other celebration involving large groups of friends and relations? Wouldn’t it be nice to share the moments you captured with others who fondly remember the events, too? Or, maybe you or someone you know is an independent filmmaker. Maybe he films original plays, scripts, or documentaries. Whatever the genre, who wouldn’t want to be able to distribute his or her work in a professional-looking manner to a wide range of people? Sometimes video streaming on the Internet isn’t practical, and isn’t as professional as a screen-printed DVD.

Wireless module from JBL Inc

Today is the day that JBL Inc. dropped a bomb on us. Today they introduced the new On Air WEM-1 wireless module. This bad boy basically adds wireless capability to any loudspeaker and eliminates the need to run speaker wires through walls, floors, and ceilings. So one could have a surround sound theater without having to worry about wires.  says the WEM-1 works through a transmitter module that connects to the audio source and a receievr/amplifier unit that connects to the speakers and iPhone 3G Case. The whole system can be controlled by a remote controller, which is included with the WEM-1 module. The WEM-1 has a coverage area of about 70 feet, so the speakers can be placed anywhere. The receiver/amplifier module contains a 50-watt per channel amplifier and has a subwoofer output. The transmitter module has a variety of connection options, such as line- and speaker-level outputs. The WEM-1 has a price tag of $359, which is a little expensive. But for the convenience, the price tag is reasonable. The JBL On Air WEM-1 module will be made available in the month of September of 2008.

Server Pronto Review - What Can I Expect?

It’s like looking at the great beyond when trying to figure out what to expect from a web host.  Are there going to be problems or is everything going to run smoothly.  Many people are interested in learning more about Server Pronto. You can check out a Server Pronto Review to see if they would interest in you.  Although I can’t guarantee if using them as a host would be without it’s headaches.  I can safely say that they are a respected host in the internet community.  You’d be hard pressed to find many webmasters that have anything negative to say about them.
