Vested Interests In Marketing Membership Site Products
One thing I don’t like about some marketers is the way they put down other products, simply because they’re at a different price point. I got an email from a semi well known marketer advertising a new membership site coaching course. His main point seemed to be that it wasn’t $1000 like so many of them. This was true, I’m sure (I never clicked through to check the price, but given it was coaching and limited to 50, it would have been the mid-range).
What really got my gall was when he said at least it wasn’t a book so basic your dog could have written it. That’s just plain generalization. I mean, has this guy looked at every membership site ebook and reviewed them firsthand? I doubt it. Some of them are pretty good, especially considering what you pay for them. And at the end of the day, short of the ongoing training required to market anything, there’s only so much that needs to be said.
