There’s nothing wrong with self-promotion.  But is there a cut off point where there is such a thing as too much self promotion?  After all, it is kind of annoying to receive all sorts of links and messages from people who are only out to promote their web site. It makes you think to yourself, "What is in it for me?"  There has got to be some sort of give and take when it comes to self promotion.  Self-promotion can be done skillfully and with some degree of ease if it is approached the right way. For instance, if you have a new web site that you are desperately trying to launch, your first inclination shouldn’t be to immediately send out links to everyone.  Rather, you should try to figure out other sorts of innovative ways to reach out and build relationships with other bloggers…you know, people that would actually be out there checking out your site..
