One of the principles of scientific management is to examine each piece of the process and see how it needs to be changed to improve efficiency. Unless you have a plant floor manufacturing execution system in place the process of individual work station evaluation can be a long a tedious process. And, until it is completed you undoubtedly have time consuming and wasteful practices going on. With a system in place to monitor production and compare it to marketing needs you will be able to trim the fat and apply it to the profit side of the book keeping system.
