Did you know that the idea of hybrid car was already established as early as the 16th century? What’s more surprising was that in 1769, the run your car on water concept was already applied in manufacturing steamed cars in the form of the steam-powered motor carriage capable of six miles per hour. The concepts made its way until 1825 when a British inventor named Goldsworthy Gurney built another steamed car that work effectively and ran an 85 mile round-trip journey in ten hours time. Steam-operated cars absolutely dominated the automotive industry even until 19th century.
